Me at Roosevelt Point, Yosemite 2012

Teddy Roosevelt, Yosemite 1903

I have a B.A. in Economics from Amherst College and a Ph.D. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis.  I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri.  I now live in North Monterey County, California.

My writings are at the intersection of economics, accounting,  financial analysis, and high tech.  I like to write about companies and industries that few follow.  This includes fifteen years writing about the pharmacy benefit manager business model, the troublesome accounting of The Bancorp (TBBK),  the $10 Billion unicorn Machine Zone (MZ) and its real-time platform Satori, and currently, the various possible market designs within the transaction layer of a true p2p {‘Post-Walrasian”) crypto-economy.

At the bottom of each piece I write, I will disclose any position in stock mentioned.  I will also disclose any remuneration from companies mentioned.
