Me at Roosevelt Point, Yosemite 2012
Teddy Roosevelt, Yosemite 1903
I have a B.A. in Economics from Amherst College and a Ph.D. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. I now live in North Monterey County, California.
My writings are at the intersection of economics, accounting, financial analysis, and high tech. I like to write about companies and industries that few follow. This includes fifteen years writing about the pharmacy benefit manager business model, the troublesome accounting of The Bancorp (TBBK), the $10 Billion unicorn Machine Zone (MZ), and currently, antitrust analysis of the market for digital ad impressions from the perspective that it is the “mother of all markets for ‘lemons.”
At the bottom of each piece I write, I will disclose any position in stock mentioned. I will also disclose any remuneration from companies mentioned.
