Me at Roosevelt Point, Yosemite 2012

Teddy Roosevelt, Yosemite 1903

I have a B.A. in Economics from Amherst College and a Ph.D. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis.  I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri.  I now live in North Monterey County, California.

My writings are at the intersection of economics, accounting,  financial analysis, and high tech.  I like to write about companies and industries that few follow.  This includes 10 years writing about the pharmacy benefit manager business model, the troublesome accounting of The Bancorp (TBBK), and the $10 Billion unicorn Machine Zone (MZ), and currently, pricing externalities in the era of the connected car / self, and edge computing as a new pricing paradigm.

At the bottom of each piece I write, I will disclose any position in stock mentioned.  I will also disclose any remuneration from companies mentioned.
